The Shining 2024 Remake
John Daniel Edward "Jack" Torrance loses his teaching job at a prep school due to his alcoholism and explosive temper. After a violent incident involving his psychic son, Danny, Jack promises his wife, Wendy, that he will quit drinking. A year later, Jack remains sober but struggles with writer's block as he tries to establish himself as a writer. When his friend Al Shockley mentions a caretaker position at the remote Overlook Hotel, Wendy encourages Jack to take the job, believing the solitude will aid his writing.

At the hotel, Jack meets with Stuart Ullman, the general manager, who explains the responsibilities of maintaining the hotel's boiler. He also encounters Dick Hallorann, the cook, who shares a unique psychic connection with Danny. Despite initial distrust from Bill Watson, Stuart's assistant, Jack asserts his sobriety of 14 months. Meanwhile, Danny, guided by his imaginary friend Tony, senses Jack's new job and shares his visions with Wendy. That night, Danny experiences chilling premonitions involving the hotel, a snowstorm, the word 'Redrum', and Jack wielding a blood-stained sledgehammer.
